ABOUT US

Atty Erwin Zagala

Hello and welcome to our site!

My name is Atty. Erwin Zagala, or “Atty. Zag” to friends and family. I’m the head writer and course creator for Legal Guide Philippines. I graduated from the Ateneo De Manila University (Legal Management ’02) and the University of the Philippines College of Law (LLB ’06). I was sworn in back in 2007 and since then I’ve been practicing law in various capacities (corporate, government, private practice).

Despite what function I’ve held though, I’ve always found it satisfying to explain law to non-lawyers. I get a really big kick when I explain an interesting legal concept and they reply with “Yun lang pala yun! (so that’s what it’s all about!)” I wanted to do that for more people, even the ones I don’t get to meet face to face. So I set up this site as a gateway to make law more accessible and easier to understand for people.

Our core mission: We simplify Philippine Law to help you make better choices.

Thru this site, my team and I distill the basics of the law and present them in simpler ways to help people understand and make better choices for themselves. The articles and materials here were originally intended for my clients and students exclusively, but I thought, “Why not share them so I can help more people?” So here you go, feel free to read and we hope you learn a thing or two. 🙂

On a personal note, I live in Quezon City with my wife and 2 kids. I also head Legal Access Law Offices, a law firm based in Eastwood City, Quezon City which specializes in helping family businesses and Small to Medium Sized Enterprises with legal concerns. I write books thru PSICOM Publishing which makes it available in Bookstores nationwide, I launch online courses (coming soon) and teach labor law seminars with Businessmaker Academy.

If you find this blog and its approach helpful, don’t be shy. Feel free to email me at attyzag@legalguide.ph. Would love to hear what you think! All the best, Atty. Zag
